2023 Elections: APC Northeast Chairman Launches New Campaign Strategy
Sierra Leone’s main opposition party All People’s Congress (APC) Northeast Campaign Chairman, Saidu Jabbie has launched the door-to-door campaign ahead of the 24 June polls.
The campaign is said to cover districts like Tonkolili, Bombali, Koinadugu and Falaba Districts.
The new strategy, according to the party will phaseout the town hall and party office meetings and campaigns that have been used in the past.
During the campaign, Jabbie is said to have explaining the contents of the APC’s One Nation Manifesto.
The northeast region is believed to be a stronghold of the opposition party but recent survey by the Institute for Governance Reform (IGR) predicted that the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) will make significant gains in Falaba and Koinadugu Districts.
In a viral video released about a couple of weeks ago, a Paramount Chief from Falaba was seen making threatening remarks against APC voters in the district.
Sierra Leone will hold its multitier election on 24 June 2023.
Tension is already high as both the main opposition and the ruling party have complained of attacks against some of their members and supporters across the country.
