APC Raises Concerns Over So-Called Constitutional Review Process
Sorie Abubakar Sierra Leone’s main opposition party, the All People’s Congress (APC) has raised concerns over a purported constitutional review process of the 1991 constitution of Sierra Leone by the Bio administration.
Lansana Dumbuya, the APC’s National Secretary-General, in an official statement, emphasized the significance of genuine legal changes that bolster Sierra Leone’s democracy. Yet, the current environment, characterized by an evident lack of trust and a deeply divided political landscape, doesn’t bode well for such a crucial initiative.
The APC said it views this as a calculated and insensitive move by the current administration, aiming to instigate a constitutional upheaval and jeopardize the nation’s peace and stability.
“This is a deliberate and callous attempt by the regime to provoke a constitutional crisis and subvert the peace and security of the state. The party takes grave exception to that move and calls on the government to immediately put a stop to it,” the statement reads.

I am also concerned about the Apc’s lack of proactiveness, it’s like the leadership lacks the guile of focus and forward thinking 🤔.
Always depending on the lead of some lawyers performing a somewhat whistle blowing function for them. This press release is clearly prompted only because Bastia Michael said something on this said issues yesterday or so. This is the same line they are toeing on other issues raised by Sengeh marah, this is clearly not leadership but followership 😏😏
