“Amadu Koita is Being Kept In a Dark Room For 23hrs In a Day” – Defense Lawyer Told Court
Morlai Ibrahim Kamara Defense Lawyer, Counsel Sigismond Conteh representing the first accused Amadu Koita Makolo says his client is being kept in a in dark room with poor ventilation and sanitary condition.
“My client is placed in a dark cell and is very difficult to access,” he informed the Presiding Judge Justice Kamanda.
Speaking on the poor sanitary conditions in the cell, he revealed his client told him he would come out for 30 minutes only after 23hrs to defecate, wash with water placed on stool bucket. He also pointed that his client had been deprived from the visitation of others which he described as a a violation of Human Rights as spelt out in section 20 of the Sierra Leone 1991 constitution.
Sierra Leone charged 12 people with treason and other offenses for their roles in what authorities have called an attempted coup on November 26, 2023. One of those charged was Amadu Koita, whom the government has said was one of the organizers of the coup attempt.
No wicked man is to go unpurnished. Let justice in this matter set strong precedent for others to becareful, know what to do and follow the right thing for the safety of the entire country.

If he is complaining about he having only 30 mins a day outside, what would he say about the people that lost their lives in the event of the coup detat that he was part of? This man was living in England where he was enjoying basic things like pipe burn water, good road, electricity that he is now complaining about but leave all that and come to disturb the peace of his own country that ended other to lose their Father, uncle, son, grandsons etc….
Some people are Satan. And hell fire is for them especially lawyers. If you are really a patriot you cannot complain about the condition of some one who killed more than 20 patriotic citizens because in quest of money. Is he better than those he killed? That’s the reason I’m at times annoy with Maada, because he scrapped in constitution death penalty. Prisoner who killed should not be allowed outside for even five minutes. So stop complaining if you are really a patriot.
