Masonry Worker Granted Bail in Kush Possession Case
A worker at a Masonry shop, Abdul Rahman Sesay alias Sharp has been granted bail by Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra of Court No.6 of the Pademba Road Magistrate court in Freetown.
The accused is before Magistrate Gogra on one count of unlawful possession Of Kush contrary to Section 8 (a) of the National Drugs Control Act No. 10 of 2008.
Police alleged that Sesay on Wednesday 20th December 2023 at Last Banking Aberdeen, in the Western Area of Freetown was found in possession of 118 wraps of Kush without lawful authority.
During his first appearance before Magistrate Gogra, the charge was read and explained to him and he pleaded not guilty.
The accused made another appearance where A.R Kargbo, Counsel representing him, reapply for bail on behalf of his client.
Magistrate Gogra granted the accused person bail in the sum of fifty thousand New Leones with two sureties in like sum.
As ordered by the court, the sureties must be resident in the Western Area and to produce valid national passports for identification. One of the sureties to be an employee of the Government of Sierra Leone. Bail to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.
The matter was adjourned to the 25th January 2024 for further hearing.
This Kush menace if not dealt with an iron fist it is going to stay with us for the foreseeable future. It is slowly destroying every facet of our society and to a large extent the youths. Too sad
