In a troubling incident in Bondayelahun Village, Kamaje Chiefdom, Moyamba District, Alpha Abu narrowly escaped death after his girlfriend, Haja Sheku, allegedly poisoned his food.
The incident occurred over the weekend when Abu’s sister witnessed Sheku administering a substance later identified as ‘Africana soap’ into Abu’s meal.
Initially reported to the village chief of Bondayelahun, Sheku denied the accusation. When asked to taste the food to prove it was not poisoned, she refused. The case was subsequently transferred to the Taiama Police Station for further investigation.
During questioning by Crime Officer Evan Bundu, Sheku admitted to the act. The case has now been moved to the District Headquarters for a thorough investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
