The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) has allayed public fears over the structural integrity of Makambo bridge on the Makeni-Magburaka road in the Bombali District.
Following reports circulating on social media about the bridge’s condition at Mabole village, SLRA engineers conducted a thorough inspection.
While acknowledging minor settlement on the road section adjacent to the bridge on the Magburaka side, the authority emphasized that the bridge itself remains structurally sound.
The settlement, characterized by visible surface cracks on the road pavement, is believed to be a result of recent flooding. SLRA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Works and Public Assets (MOWPA), is closely monitoring the situation and has pledged to swiftly address the issue.
