Government Launch School Feeding Program in Moyamba District
The Sierra Leone government has launched their school feeding program in Moyamba District, Southern Sierra Leone.
The program is expected to benefit twelve out of the fourteen chiefdoms in the southern district of Sierra Leone.
This initiative, fully backed by President Julius Maada Bio, aims to enhance the learning environment in various primary schools across the district.
Mr. Dominic James Foday, head teacher of one of the participating primary schools, expressed his gratitude for the support. “The supplies we received include bags of grain rice, quantities of beans, large cooking pots, gallons of cooking and palm oil, and various cooking condiments,” he stated. “This program will provide essential nutrition to our students, helping them focus better in class.”
The first phase of the program is set to run for one month, providing much-needed resources to pupils and contributing to their overall well-being.
As the initiative unfolds, it is expected to foster not only improved academic performance but also a healthier future for the children of Moyamba District. The government has stated that they remain committed to ensuring that every child has access to nutritious meals, paving the way for a brighter tomorrow.
