An Indian All-Party Parliamentary Delegation led by Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), concluded a significant three-day diplomatic visit to Sierra Leone, aimed at garnering international solidarity and raising awareness about the global threat of terrorism.
The visit, held from 28–30 May 2025, came in the aftermath of the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed multiple lives.
The Indian delegation’s mission was to underscore India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and to urge unified global action in combating cross-border terrorism.

During the visit, the delegation engaged in extensive high-level meetings with key Sierra Leonean authorities, including the Vice President, the Acting Foreign Minister, the Speaker of Parliament, Members of Parliament and the Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Minister of Defence, and the National Security Coordinator.
In a resounding show of solidarity, the Parliament of Sierra Leone condemned the terrorist attack and held a moment of silence in memory of the victims.
Vice President Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the government and people of Sierra Leone and reaffirmed the country’s firm support for India in its fight against terrorism.

Deputy Defence Minister Col. (Retd.) Muana Brima Massaquoi and Deputy Leader of the Opposition Daniel Brima Koroma also condemned terrorism unequivocally.
Minister Massaquoi emphasized the need for African nations to recognize the urgency of collective action, warning that terrorism could threaten the continent if not addressed decisively.
The Indian delegation also held discussions with foreign diplomats stationed in Sierra Leone, aiming to galvanize coordinated international action to counter terrorism and address the support structures enabling cross-border attacks against India.

In addition, the delegation met with the Indian diaspora and local media, reaffirming the long-standing friendship between India and Sierra Leone.
During a live interview with AYVnews TV Channel, Dr. Sasmit Patra, another member of the delegation, called for Pakistan to end its policy of state-sponsored terrorism, a message that resonated with many local viewers.
The visit concluded with a renewed call for stronger global cooperation through platforms such as the United Nations Security Council, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), and other international bodies to counter terrorism and preserve global peace and security.

This high-level visit marks a significant step in India’s diplomatic outreach and strengthens bilateral ties between India and Sierra Leone in the shared commitment to peace and security.

Sierra Leone Parliament, where justice is far fetched, is the not the best of examples to copy or learn from. They are in bed with the worst ever government Sierra Leone has ever experienced ranging from corruption to poor human rights etc. Judges are chosen by the Illegitimate President who dispense justice based on dictate coming from the president. You can write only for those whose eyes are still blind to reality. There are no terrorists in Sierra Leone. The only people branded terrorists by the Illegitimate President are citizens who stand up against his abysmal governance system. His day will come!!!
🤔🤔😔😔😞😢 Very very sad to read such aan article. Is that development Sierra Leoneans citizens are waiting? This is total nonsense meeting based on the topic. Sierra Leone and it people have nothing to do with that, we sympathize we them but not hosting a meeting with bunch corrupt parliament agents. Why Sierra Leone? And not spread or strengthen sort meetings within their region or their borders? They should preaching peace to themselves. Sierra Leoneans don’t need this kind of ideas no more, but technology and development ideas are welcome. They knew what is war already. We knew exactly various external war mongers had finance the passed war in Sierra Leone; the Hiisbullah, Israel, India and Pakistan causes a lot of chaos before the war, during the war and to date. The Indians and Pakistans, war is fighting in Sierra Leone through Indians business men and the Ahmaddiyas, while Hiisbullah war is fighting in Sierra Leone, through the Lebanese and Israelis living the country. All this is happening from our diamond and Gold mines. All these groups are the major diamonds and gold smugglers from Sierra Leone to finance their wars. Let Sierra Leone leadership think to grow rich with their own sovereignty and not waiting outsiders to tell them how to manage their homes, if it’s true that Sierra Leoneans are the smartest people in West Africa and the opposite word.🙌🏾. May the almighty God continue to bless Sierra Leone and it people 🙏🏾
