Angolan politician, Carlos Contreiras ‘General Contreiras’ has strongly condemned Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio, labeling him as “the most corrupt leader in Africa” and a dictator.
The remarks came during a public address where General Contreiras expressed his discontent with allegations linked to President Bio demanding Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traore to step down.
General Contreiras criticized President Bio for his lengthy tenure since 2018, asserting that he has failed to address the dire conditions facing his citizens. “His people are dying; kids are hungry, and poverty is rampant due to bad governance,” he stated emphatically.
The general questioned the legitimacy of President Bio’s authority to intimidate President Traore, emphasizing that “Africa does not belong to the West, it belongs to Africans.” He urged leaders to unite in support of President Traore, whom he described as a legitimate leader loved by his people.
“Where did he get the power to intimidate Ibrahim Traore? I have no respect for you,” General Contreiras declared, reinforcing his stance that African nations should follow their own vision and leadership without external interference.

Mr president is better you focus on we your people than you interfere into the international politics it will not take our country nowhere please sir a word for a wise is quite sufficient
Hard fact
Mr man if you said president Carlos to focus on his people and forget about maada Bio.
Then tell madam Bio to focus on his people and forget about Ibrahim Toara.
President Bio is just being inquisitive and hypocrite on national issues.
He has many issues on his table to address, the issues of electricity remained unaddressed, the issue of corruption and embezzlement is becoming too rampant
Me what I know is all those democracy leaders in Africa are thieves,
They are listeners to the west leaders
While Ibrahim Traore is listening to his people and also want to Africa until
President Bio must be very careful with Ibrahim Traore otherwise all the youths of Africa will fight Maada Bio.
Corrupt African politicians are afraid of Traore cuz he is different.
They never expected an African to be like him. They expect all of us to be as corrupt as them
Good message general conterial he should mind his business
Is this when they have choose you or voted you as the president of ECOWAS to go against Burkina Faso president?
Your people are starving, your people need jobs. Please focus on your people and Sierra Leone as a whole
A Message to the Government of Sierra Leone: Fix Home First
One thing I have come to realize about the current political leadership in Sierra Leone is this: rather than addressing the real issues affecting our youth and citizens, they focus more on external affairs often in ways that are confusing and irrelevant to our urgent needs.
Not long ago, the Minister of Information dismissed serious developments in Burkina Faso as mere propaganda. Now, the President himself is calling for another African leader to step down a leader who, by many accounts, is making real efforts to improve his country. Why is our government so preoccupied with the affairs of other nations when pressing issues at home remain unresolved?
Take Yenga, for instance. Guinea has effectively taken over Yenga, and yet there has been no decisive action from our government. Or consider the alleged drug case involving one of our ambassadors quickly covered up and silenced. The poor driver involved is reportedly still in trouble in Guinea, while the powerful man walks free in Sierra Leone without accountability.
There should be no place for military rule in Africa.
People often say Ibrahim Troare is doing good for his people; have people gone there to ascertain all the social media news? Is it real or just a social media meandering?
Even if Ibrahim Troare is doing good for his people and the claim that he’s loved by his people, then, let him resign and contest an election.
My second point I would say is that why are certain group of Sierra Leoneans so blinded by politics that they couldn’t see the massive development that our beloved President is doing in Sierra Leone. I will mention a few of them; 1. massive road constructions including massive bridges eg. the Mattru-Senehun bridge just commissioned on the 5th July2025, the Rugbere bridge, the Mabang bridge, the Kaiyamba bridge, the Gbangbama bridge etc etc etc. In terms of roads, the Koidu Guinea Road is under construction, the Bo-Mattru Road under construction, major roads terred in Bo, Kenema, Pujehun, Kambia etc.
2. Electricity: Bo, Kenema and other districts now enjoy 24hr electricity, many towns like Masiaka, Bonthe, Mbawoma, Senehun, Mbupeh etc now enjoy solar creed electrification.
3. Education: Sierra Leonean pupils now enjoy Free and Quality education. More than 50 schools have constructed across the country. 3 new Public Universities have been constructed across the country namely, Eastern Technical University (ETU), Milton Magai Technical University (MTU), and Koidu Technical University (KTU). More than 10 colleges and Training institutions have also be constructed under President Bio Administration. Existing universities have been extended namely IPAM, a constituent of University of Sierra Leone, FBC, Njala and EBK universities.
3. Reforms: The abolition of the Death Penalty, Gender and Women’s Empowerment Act which has increased women’s participation in politics, public and private sectors respectively, media reforms, the radical inclusion policy, and many many others.
4. Fight against corruption: It is no secret that the fight against corruption has made history in Sierra Leone. Corrupt public officials have been held responsible for their reckless mismanagement of public funds. Many instances have been publicly displayed where corrupt public officials have been named and remanded for their corrupt practices. There have been many instances where other Africa countries have come and learned from the manner in which Sierra
Leone fights corruption. Our Anti- corruption Commissioner has and is still winning international awards in the fight against corruption. The Afrobarometer and MCC are sources of my claims.
5. Construction of one of the finest Airports in West Africa, the Freetown International Airport.
6. Health: Infant and Maternal Mortality Rates have been improved drastically. Maintenance of the Free Healthcare Policy. Our surveillance and EPI programs improved. Primary Healthcare System better than before.
Other areas that I could not mentioned due to time are Good governance and social cohesion, Agriculture, Telecommunication and digitalization, internal and external social security systems and networks, NASSIT.
I would like to delebrate a little bit on NASSIT. Before Maada Bio’s Administration, NASSIT Pension was 10% of the retiree’s salary on retirement. Will you want to know what is it now? The answer is 90%. Isn’t that excellent? In fact, plans on the way to make it 100%. Kudos to President Bio for honoring your people.
Our president has put Sierra Leone on GLOBAL STAGE which is a legacy every Sierra Leonean Must be Proud of.
We do not flaunt gallivant on social media to show-off what our president is doing.
For those who are not blinded by politics, they know that all what l have mentioned here is true. Certain set of people only display lies and falsehood on social media.
But I do not blame them, it’s government’s outreach system that is not too effective.
They need to improve on their public outreach system.
Tell people what you are doing. Put them on all social media platforms.
Mr President, His Excellency Retired Brigadier, Father of Democracy, President of ECOWAS, Chairman of UN Non Permanent Security Council, Big Bro, Julius Maada Wonie Bio. The man of the moment. History will remembered you for good (You are at right side of history).
Congratulations Sir.
Shame on you
Lies and deceit, stop such propaganda, only 1 out of 10 is true in your piece.
You lie ooh… chai!!!
You lied, no university constructed, were established and that Kono Guinea road under construction is a big lie.
Why can’t Maada Bio focus on the problem of his country?
He can’t afford to provide anything for his people now he wants to control another man in his own country.
Things are getting worst everyday in Sierra Leone
Why can’t he focus on that?
