A tragic incident occurred on Friday, July 4, 2025, when a white jeep with registration number AXK 619 struck a 16-year-old girl at the Taiama Main Junction.

The accident happened around 3:45 PM as the girl was crossing the highway to meet her older sister.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle, travelling from Freetown towards Bo, hit the girl, leaving her in critical condition. Immediate efforts were made to rush her to the Community Health Centre in Taiama; however, due to the severity of her injuries, she was referred to the Bo Government Hospital for advanced treatment.

Sources indicate that the vehicle did not stop following the collision, raising concerns among local residents about road safety and driver accountability.
