Former Minister of Finance and APC presidential aspirant Dr. Kaifala Marah, has shared some of the first steps he would take if elected president of Sierra Leone.

Speaking during a recent appearance on an online TV interview program, Marah, who is also an aspirant for the All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer position, said his top priority would be to heal the country.

He explained that healing is necessary before any meaningful progress can happen, especially in attracting investment. As part of his first actions in office, he said he would introduce a government transition program protocol. This, according to him, would help guide the shift from one administration to the next and bring order and structure at the start of a new government.

Marah said he is sharing these ideas now to give confidence to his party. If chosen as the APC flagbearer, he believes the party would be able to start putting the right structures and framework in place for national healing and progress. He stressed that healing the country must come first in order to open the door for investment and development.

He also said that within the first 100 days of his administration, he would establish a Business and Investment Council along with a National Economic Council. These two bodies would focus on improving the business climate and shaping economic policy.

Marah’s comments come as the APC continues its internal preparations for the 2028 presidential race.
