Sierra Leone’s Presidential Spokesperson and prominent SLPP figure, Hon. Alpha Kanu, has said that the main opposition party, the All People’s Congress (APC), will not return to power in the upcoming 2028 elections.

Speaking confidently about the future of Sierra Leone’s political landscape, Kanu declared that the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) is on track to retain governance due to what he described as the party’s strong leadership and performance under President Julius Maada Bio.

“They [the APC] will have to wait until 2033, and even then, only if they manage to produce a leader as good as President Bio,” he stated. “Right now, we have a president who is delivering, and the people recognize that.”
