SLFA Presidential Candidate Alhaji Umaru Bah Outlines Plans Ahead of Elective Congress
As the Sierra Leone Football Association prepares for its elective congress on August 2, 2025, in Lungi, presidential candidate Alhaji Umaru Bah has officially declared his intention to lead the football body.
According to Awoko News, Bah’s campaign focuses on improving football governance through transparency, greater involvement of stakeholders, and long-term development of the sport across the country.
His team says Bah aims to build a football system that supports players, clubs, fans, and national institutions alike. The campaign slogan, “Vote Alhaji Umaru Bah,” is being used to encourage unity and participation ahead of the vote.
Bah is among several candidates cleared by the SLFA Electoral Committee to contest the presidency, including Babadi Kamara, Thomas Brima, and Aminata Bangura. However, after vetting by the SLFA Ethics Committee, only Bah and Kamara remain eligible for the position.
In recent months, the SLFA has faced challenges in organizing its leadership elections. The April Ordinary Congress was postponed due to disagreements over delegate lists and security concerns. Following this, some committee seats were won by supporters of Babadi Kamara, which added momentum to his campaign.
Bah is one of two candidates confirmed to contest the SLFA presidency at the upcoming congress.
