Magistrate Mamakoh Soa Kallon of Pademba Road Court No. 3 has committed Alusine Kamara, a 34-year-old businessman, to the High Court for trial over an alleged Le40,000 apartment rental fraud.
According to the charge sheet, on February 22, 2025, at Lumley, Freetown, Kamara, with intent to defraud, allegedly obtained Le40,000 in cash from Chika Nwachukwu by falsely claiming to have two self-contained rooms and a parlour available for rent, knowing the claim to be false.
Report confirmed that when the charge was read and explained, the accused did not enter a plea. Led by Police Constable 15098 Sesay M.A., the prosecution closed its case and requested a ruling.
Magistrate Kallon ruled that the accused had a case to answer under Section 118 of the Criminal Procedure Act No. 32 of 1965 and committed the matter to the High Court in accordance with Section 120 of the same Act.
Kamara is not committed to face trial before a High Court judge on the charge of rental fraud.
