The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, have separated 12 villages from their existing communities across Freetown.
This initiative is said to be in line with the government mandate to promote inclusive governance, improve service delivery, and strengthen local administration.
These changes are aimed at enhancing community development, ensuring better representation, and bringing government services closer to the people.
Villages to be separated from existing communities include: Black Johnson to be separated from John Obey
During Town to be separated from Kerry Town
Bankor to be separated from Tombo
Yarms Farm New State to be separated from Yarms Farm
Newton to be separated from Four Mile
Tree Planting to be separated from Leicester
Kobo to be separated from Ogo Farm
Mabala to be separated from Crossing
Kodollo to be separated from Rokel
Upper and Lower to be separated from Deep Eye Water
Grassfield to be separated from Benguema
Majeitown to be separated from Gbemdebu.
