The Minister of Lands, Dr. Turad Senesie, has announced that he is pursuing both criminal and civil legal action following a series of defamatory remarks made against him on Facebook.

The minister described the posts as deliberate attempts to tarnish his reputation, demean his family, and damage longstanding relationships with friends and associates.

In a statement, Dr. Senesie said he has formally reported the matter to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and will pursue legal redress through the appropriate channels.

He also confirmed that civil proceedings will be initiated to address the psychological and emotional distress caused to him and his family, both within Sierra Leone and abroad.

“Let me be unequivocal: I place a high value on my integrity, and I will not stand by while my name is dragged through the mud in an attempt to score cheap public popularity,” Dr. Senesie said. He emphasised that Sierra Leone is a nation governed by laws and reiterated his commitment to defending his dignity and legacy, particularly after years of public service.

Dr. Senesie thanked family, friends, and well-wishers who have expressed solidarity during this challenging period and called for collective adherence to principles of truth, justice, and accountability.
