A fire outbreak on Sunday morning gutted the former office building of the Forum for Child Welfare and Civil Society in Moyamba.
The blaze, which occurred on Yoyema Road, completely consumed the structure but did not spread to nearby houses or facilities.
Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
Although Moyamba District, in Sierra Leone’s Southern Province, has rarely experienced such incidents, authorities say Sunday’s destruction serves as a reminder of the need for stronger fire safety awareness and preparedness in the area.
