His Excellency, President Julius Maada Bio, has suspended Honourable Justice Allan B. Halloway as Judge of the Superior Court of Judicature with immediate effect, pending the outcome of a disciplinary tribunal.

According to an official letter from the Office of the President dated 15th September 2025, the suspension was carried out pursuant to Section 137(6) of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone (Act No. 6 of 1991). The action follows the advice of the Judicial and Legal Service Commission (JLSC), which met on 5th September 2025 to deliberate on the matter.

The letter stated: “I write to convey that His Excellency the President hereby suspends you as Judge of the Superior Court of Judicature with immediate effect until the outcome of a Disciplinary Tribunal instituted to investigate your conduct.”

In a related directive, the JLSC further ordered that Justice Halloway be interdicted from serving as Judge of the Superior Court of Judicature effective September 2025, in line with the President’s letter.
