The trial of Esther Lavallie, accused of assaulting Aminata Kpaka and damaging her mobile phone, continued before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown.
Lavallie faces two counts: assault occasioning actual bodily harm under the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861, and malicious damage under the Malicious Damage Act of 1861. She pleaded not guilty to both charges.
Prosecution witness DPC Alie Kargbo, who investigated the case while attached to CID Lumley, testified that he issued the complainant a medical form, obtained statements from witnesses, and cautioned the defendant.
Lavallie reportedly admitted the statement by affixing her thumbprint, which was recorded by investigators. Several documents, including the medical report and caution statements, were tendered as exhibits in court.
Defense counsel C. Pujeh represents the accused. Lavallie remains on bail, and the matter was adjourned to 13th October 2025 for continuation of the trial.
