The Minister of Agriculture, Dr Henry Musa Kpaka, has pleaded with the newly recruited accountants for the 15 agricultural districts to uphold transparency and accountability in the Feed Salone Initiative. Kpaka made this plea during an induction ceremony in Bo on October 3rd, 2025.
Opening the session, Dr. Kpaka highlighted that both the accountants and their assistants have a critical role to play in guiding the Ministry toward achieving and sustaining the Feed Salone initiative. He stressed on the need for integrity, accountability, and prudent financial management in the execution of the government’s flagship agricultural programme.
“The Feed Salone initiative can only succeed if we ensure value for money in all its implementation,” The minister stated, calling on the participants to be transparent and disciplined in handling public funds.
The induction workshop aims to orientate the new recruits on public financial management systems, accountability mechanisms, and effective service delivery at the district level.
The newly appointed accountants are expected to strengthen financial oversight and ensure that agricultural investments yield tangible results for farmers and communities across the country.
