Female rapper Natasha Beckley has responded to her wanted declaration by the Sierra Leone Police over alleged drug-related offences.

Shortly after the police made the announcement, Beckley took to social media, sharing the wanted notice with the caption:

“I have also seen this. I am on my way to my lawyer and will keep you guys posted.”

A few hours earlier, before the official declaration, the artist had posted another statement debunking rumours that she was wanted by the police, following a wave of phone calls from family and friends. She clarified that she had not been arrested, was not on the run, and was at home doing fine.

In her post, Beckley alleged that her recent declaration to contest for the position of Deputy Chairperson of the Port Loko District Council had unsettled her political opponents, claiming they had paid certain social media bloggers to tarnish her image.

She further stated:

“I have contacted my lawyers to be on the lookout because anything can happen to me. I have alerted my family at home that we should search anyone who comes to my house. I’ve given them my lawyers’ numbers just in case, and instructed them to record any suspicious activity. Lastly, we are checking my compound to make sure nobody throws anything inside.”

Beckley’s comments come amid a police manhunt linked to the discovery of alleged narcotic substances and drug-processing materials at her Freetown residence in June 2025.
