Sierra Leone Premier League side Bhantal FC has expressed disappointment with Sky Bank Sierra Leone for overlooking local football representation during the bank’s recently concluded Customer Week celebrations.

In a statement released on the club’s official Facebook page, Bhantal FC expressed frustration that Sky Bank failed to showcase local football team jerseys, instead choosing foreign clubs in the UK and Spain. The club stressed that the bank’s decision was particularly disheartening, given that Bhantal FC players’ salaries are managed through Sky Bank accounts.

Bhantal FC called on financial institutions and corporate bodies in Sierra Leone to take a more active role in promoting and investing in local sports, stressing that such partnerships are vital for the growth and professionalisation of domestic football.

The club further noted that sponsorships, merchandise visibility, and promotional collaborations can help strengthen both community engagement and the national football industry.

Bhantal FC, one of the emerging teams in the Sierra Leone Premier League, has been vocal about the need for corporate support to sustain clubs, improve infrastructure, and nurture local talent.
