Police in Bo have arrested a suspected drug trafficker, identified as Abdul Karim Kamara of Magbama Village near Mile 91, at about 10:00 p.m. on 14 October 2025 at the Gelehun Checkpoint along the Bo–Koribondo Highway while he was reportedly en route to the Mano River area.
According to police sources, Kamara was apprehended in a commercial taxi with registration number AUX 971, which was found carrying sixteen full rice bags, four half bags, and ten parcels containing dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa.

The suspect was detained on the spot and later transported to the Regional Police Headquarters in Bo for further investigation.
The seized substances have been handed over to the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU), which has taken over the case.
Police say forensic testing of the seized materials is underway, alongside efforts to trace the origin and intended destination of the consignment. Authorities are also coordinating with other regional checkpoints to uncover possible links to a wider trafficking network.

The interception at Gelehun Checkpoint is being hailed as a major disruption to suspected drug trafficking routes in the Bo region and underscores the continued vigilance of law enforcement at major highway checkpoints.
