The Family Support Unit, in collaboration with the Community Relations Department of Magburaka Police Division, conducted a school sensitisation program on Thursday, 16th October 2025, aimed at fostering positive relations between the police, schools, and the community.

Led by Local Unit Commander Superintendent Saidu Kargbo, the program focused on critical issues affecting young people, including the Sexual Offences Act of 2012 (as amended in 2019), sexual harassment, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), riotous conduct, and drug abuse.

Inspector Joseph Kargbo, Line Manager, urged students to prioritize their studies and avoid activities that could compromise safety. “This initiative is part of the Sierra Leone Police’s ongoing efforts to promote community policing and prevent crime,” he said.

The Magburaka Police Division reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with schools and the community to ensure a safe and secure environment, emphasizing that programs like this are vital for promoting peace and stability in the region.
