On Friday, october 17 2025, The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially launched a three-day Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop on FIFA Connect and the Competition Management System (CMS), aimed at strengthening the digital capacity and administrative efficiency of football administrators across the country.
The programmed was facilitated by Joel S. Freeman Sr. and Swen G. Bedell, both experts from the Liberia Football Association, the workshop brings together participants from all five regions of Sierra Leone. It is designed to equip football officials with the skills required to manage player data and competitions through modern digital platforms.
At the opening ceremony, SLFA President Babadi Kamara urged participants to approach the program with commitment and a spirit of knowledge-sharing. He described the workshop as “another important milestone in SLFA’s drive to modernize football administration and align with international best practices.”
President Kamara highlighted that the implementation of FIFA Connect and CMS will transform football management by providing:
Streamlined player and club registration processes
Accurate and centralized data for informed decision-making
Simplified coordination and scheduling of matches
Enhanced transparency, integrity, and trust in football operations
The event was attended by members of the SLFA Executive Committee, including Prince Kai Saquee, Abdul Osman Turay (AOT), Kweku Melvin Lisk, Haja Ramatulai Kamara, and Pastor Philip Buck, who all reaffirmed their commitment to advancing football development through innovation and capacity building.
This three-day workshop underscores SLFA’s ongoing efforts to digitalize football administration and ensure local structures meet CAF and FIFA operational standards.
