Following a recent visit to Turkey, the First Lady of Sierra Leone, H.E. Fatima Maada Bio, announced a successful appeal to the First Lady of Turkey, H.E. Emine Erdoğan, for support in constructing a hospital.

The Turkish First Lady graciously accepted the request, marking a significant step toward improving healthcare access for the people of Bo and surrounding areas.

Earlier today, First Lady Fatima Maada Bio welcomed the Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone, H.E. Yusuf Burak Rende, and the TİKA Country Director for Sierra Leone, Mr. Mirzet Muezzinoglu, to her office to discuss plans for the proposed medical centre.

Reflecting on her efforts, the First Lady emphasized, “Whenever I travel out of the country, my heart remains with my people, my women, my girls, and my children.”

The upcoming facility is expected to enhance healthcare services in Bo and provide critical support for vulnerable populations.
