The Minister of Communication, Technology and Innovation, Madam Salima Monorma Bah, today welcomed a delegation of blockchain technology experts to Freetown, signaling the government’s strong interest in leveraging the technology for public service reform.

The delegation included Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to China, Dr. Abubakarr Karim, and a team from Feili TechCity and Sovereign Infrastructure for Global Nations (S.I.G.N.), a global blockchain infrastructure group.

The visit underscores the government’s active drive to use blockchain technology to strengthen transparency, trust, and innovation within public service delivery across Sierra Leone.

Over the next few days, the international team is scheduled to meet with various partners and stakeholders to discuss practical ways in which blockchain solutions can be integrated to support the country’s rapidly expanding digital ecosystem.

The initiative aligns with the Ministry’s mandate to harness technological advancements to improve governance and enhance the efficiency of services provided to citizens.
