Two police officers were struck and killed by a truck while on official duty at Bar Junction in Goderich on Saturday night, November 1, 2025, police authorities have confirmed.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Brima Kamara stated that the two constables tragically lost their lives after a Bedford truck reportedly lost control and hit them. The officers were performing routine duties at the time of the incident.

According to ACP Kamara, emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, but both officers succumbed to their injuries.

While initial accounts from eyewitnesses at the scene suggest the fatal accident was caused by a mechanical failure, ACP Kamara emphasized that a full investigation into the crash is currently ongoing.

The Sierra Leone Police force has expressed its solidarity with the families of the deceased officers. Post-mortem examinations are scheduled to be conducted, after which burial arrangements will be announced.
