Stepping up efforts to combat the circulation of harmful narcotics, the Magburaka Police Division has intensified operations targeting drug networks and apprehending offenders across the township.
On Monday, November 3, 2025, a team of officers from the Magburaka Police Station conducted a series of coordinated raids on suspected ghettos and hideouts known for illegal drug activities. The operation led to the arrest of two individuals allegedly found in possession of substantial quantities of Kush a synthetic drug wreaking havoc in many communities across Sierra Leone.
The suspects have been identified as Abdul Conteh, of 52 Back Off Council, Magburaka, who was reportedly found with 800 wraps of Kush, and Randolf Kabba, of 23 Bayoh Street, Makeni, who was discovered with 430 wraps.
Police sources confirmed that both suspects, along with the confiscated substances, have been transferred to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further interrogation and investigation.
Authorities in Magburaka have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a drug-free environment, warning that similar operations will continue across the district as part of a broader nationwide crackdown on illicit drugs.
