The Council of Churches in Sierra Leone (CCSL) has officially opened its new Psychosocial Counselling and Resource Centre in Magburaka. The centre was dedicated during a ceremony held under the theme “Restoring Hope, Strengthening Lives.”
The establishment of the facility marks a significant step in CCSL’s ongoing efforts to provide psychosocial support and community-based counselling services across the country.
The initiative was made possible through the support of Bread for the World and contributions from CCSL member churches.
Government officials, representatives from Bread for the World, CCSL leadership, church coordinators, survivors, beneficiaries, and community members attended the dedication ceremony. The event highlighted the role of faith-based organizations in addressing emotional and social challenges faced by individuals and communities in Sierra Leone.
The new centre aims to serve as a safe space for healing, rehabilitation, and empowerment, offering resources to strengthen resilience and restore hope among those affected by trauma and hardship.
