`the CEO of Afro-Anatolia Consultancy Services, Fatih Ilhan, met with the Speaker of Sierra Leone’s Parliament, Rt. Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas, on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, to launch a new inter-parliamentary friendship programme.
The initiative, known as the Türkiye-Sierra Leone Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Programme, is designed to foster experience-sharing, business networking, and capacity-building for lawmakers from both nations.
During the courtesy call, Ilhan outlined the programme’s broad scope, which will include exchanges of insights on key sectors such as mining, agriculture, culture, technology, industry, and education.

“Türkiye’s rich history, advanced technology and vibrant industrial base offer lessons we could adapt to Sierra Leone’s development agenda,” Ilhan told Speaker Thomas.
Speaker Thomas welcomed the proposal, praising it as a “timely boost for our parliament’s outreach and a catalyst for economic growth.” He committed to forming a ten-member parliamentary delegation to travel to Türkiye early next year, signaling a concrete first step in the deepening collaboration.
The meeting underscores a growing focus on South-South cooperation, with both countries aiming to translate diplomatic goodwill into tangible projects. The partnership is anticipated to pave the way for joint ventures, training programmes, and cultural exchanges that reinforce bilateral ties.
As the programme develops, it is expected to foster not only legislative dialogue but also people-to-people connections. The upcoming delegation’s visit will be a key indicator of the partnership’s potential to turn diplomatic intentions into concrete development outcomes.
