The All People’s Congress (APC) Publicity Secretariat official, Abdul Karim Kamara Esq., has dismissed claims suggesting that the party’s 2013 and 2018 presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, is no longer an active member of the party.
Speaking during an interview on Liberty Online TV, Abdul Karim Kamara stated that Dr. Samura Kamara remains an active and committed member of the APC, emphasizing that he is the party’s two-time standard bearer in both the 2018 and 2023 presidential elections.
According to him, Dr. Samura Kamara continues to be regarded as a stalwart and key stakeholder within the party. He explained that individuals contribute to the party in different ways, noting that while some choose to engage publicly through television and media discussions, others prefer to work quietly behind the scenes to influence outcomes.
“Everybody is playing his or her role,” Kamara said, adding that Dr. Samura Kamara is focused on his own approach to political engagement and contribution.
He further stressed that the APC is more united than ever and that Dr. Samura Kamara remains fully committed to the party’s objective of returning to power. Kamara noted that Dr. Samura is ready to give his all in support of the APC and that his supporters are aware of his consistent record of placing Sierra Leone first.
Abdul Karim Kamara concluded by stating that Dr. Samura Kamara believes any attempt to throw the APC into disarray in his name would create serious and far-reaching problems for the country, a situation he is determined to avoid.
