The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) will on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, officially launch the 2025/26 Talent Development Scheme (TDS) League Season with an opening ceremony at the SLFA Academy, Kingtom, Freetown.

The ceremony, scheduled to run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., will mark the start of competitive matches in the U-15 and U-17 categories for both boys and girls under the SLFA Talent Development Scheme.

The TDS league is designed to support youth football development by providing structured competition, technical guidance and talent identification opportunities for young players across the country.

Matches on the opening day will be played as part of the league fixtures, with teams from various academies and clubs competing at the SLFA Academy. The programme falls under the SLFA’s broader youth football framework, which includes initiatives such as the Talent Development Scheme (TDS) and Talent Identification System (TIS).

The opening ceremony will formally signal the beginning of the 2025/26 youth league season as participating teams begin their campaigns in the U-15 and U-17 divisions.

Entrance to the venue is free.
