The Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, Dr David Moinina Sengeh, on Sunday, 22 December 2024, served as Guest of Honour at the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) End-of-Year Party and Presentation of Awards held at the Defence Headquarters, Cockerill Barracks.

While he addressed officers and personnel at the ceremony, Dr Sengeh noted that the RSLAF has undergone a “not-so-silent transformation,” reflecting ongoing reforms within the armed forces. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening the military, stressing that, as stated by the Chief of Defence Staff, efforts will continue until all reform commitments are fully delivered and the welfare of personnel is further improved.

The Chief Minister described the event as an opportunity to appreciate and celebrate the gallant men and women of the RSLAF for their dedication and service to the nation. He commended their critical role in responding to national emergencies, contributing to road construction, and supporting food production across the country throughout the year.

The ceremony featured the presentation of awards to deserving personnel in recognition of their outstanding service and commitment, marking a fitting close to the RSLAF’s activities for the year.
