Haja Isatu Bah-Kamara, the Southern Region Chairperson of the All Peoples Congress (APC), has renewed calls for strict adherence to the party’s 30 per cent quota for women at all levels of the APC executive, stressing that women’s inclusion is not optional but a fundamental requirement that strengthens the party.

She made the appeal during the APC First Fund-Raising Dinner Launch held at Family Kingdom on Tuesday, 6 January 2026. The event was organised by the APC Women’s Congress under the leadership of its Chairperson, Mariama Lowe Bangura.

Addressing party members, supporters, flagbearer aspirants, and other stakeholders, Haja Isatu Bah-Kamara emphasised the APC’s commitment to fairness, balance, and inclusive leadership as the party positions itself for the future. She urged the leadership to fully respect the 30 per cent quota for women, noting that empowering women is both a constitutional obligation and a strategic move towards building a stronger and more inclusive party.

She also appealed for unity, peace, and respect for party rules as the APC prepares for its internal processes ahead of the 2028 general elections. According to her, unity must be placed above personal interests, warning that internal divisions and conflicts only serve to weaken the party’s chances of electoral success.

Haja Isatu Bah-Kamara reminded the gathering that only one individual will eventually emerge as the party’s flagbearer and called on all members to be prepared to accept the outcome with maturity and respect. She added that whoever emerges victorious must demonstrate humility by embracing those who do not win.

She further noted that peace within the party is not automatic but a continuous process that demands patience, tolerance, and commitment from all sides. She stressed the need for APCians to put the party first by respecting its constitution and upholding its core values, including women’s representation.

In concluding her remarks, Haja Isatu Bah-Kamara called on all APC members to work together in unity and discipline for the good of the party and the future of the nation.
