Residents of central Freetown are calling for immediate government intervention after a dead body was discovered at the Frederick Street Junction on Tuesday.
Witnesses say the body has remained unattended at the busy intersection, raising concerns among local business owners and passersby regarding public health and safety.
Community members have issued urgent appeals to the Sierra Leone Police, the Freetown City Council, and the Ministry of Health and Sanitation to remove the body and launch an investigation. Residents fear that the continued presence of the corpse poses sanitary risks and potential disease transmission in the densely populated area.
Locals are being advised to avoid the junction until authorities arrive. Residents are also urged to report similar emergencies to the national 117 hotline.
