During the meeting, Ing. Palmer commended Commissioner Kaifala for his leadership and sustained anti-corruption efforts, while seeking the Commission’s continued support in strengthening accountability and regulatory compliance within the water resources sector.
In response, Commissioner Kaifala congratulated Ing. Palmer on his appointment and emphasized the importance of young, reform-minded leadership in modernizing public institutions. He stressed the need to reactivate and strengthen existing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the ACC and NWRMA to deepen collaboration in oversight, compliance, and enforcement.
The Commissioner further assured the NWRMA Director General that the ACC’s Investigations Department would support efforts to ensure that all facilities under the Agency’s mandate adhere to regulatory standards. He noted that all enforcement actions would follow due process, including issuing proper notices and allowing reasonable timelines before any intervention.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing institutional cooperation, promoting transparency, and safeguarding Sierra Leone’s water resources through accountable and lawful governance.
