Sierra Leone’s President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, has departed Ghana for Dubai, where he is set to attend the World Governments Summit 2026.

The summit, themed “Shaping Future Governments,” will provide a platform for leaders from around the world to discuss and share innovative governance solutions.

The President’s remarks came shortly after his arrival in Dubai, where he expressed his excitement about the summit’s potential.

After the High-Level Conference in Accra, I travelled to Dubai for the World Governments Summit 2026. Themed ‘Shaping Future Governments,’ this summit offers a platform to share Sierra Leone’s experiences and promote Africa as a hub for global investment and innovation,” he said.

The World Government Summit, a prestigious annual event, is designed to bring together policymakers, global experts, and business leaders to collaborate on shaping future governance models.

President Bio’s participation notably reflects Sierra Leone’s commitment to contributing to global conversations on governance and policy, as well as showcasing Africa as a growing center for innovation and investment.

The summit is expected to feature a series of high-level discussions and panels that address key global issues including technology, sustainable development, and public sector reforms. President Bio’s attendance aligns with Sierra Leone’s strategic focus on improving governance while attracting investments to boost the country’s economy.

The Sierra Leonean leader had been in Accra, Ghana, for the High-Level Conference, where discussions centered on promoting African unity and collaboration in governance and development.

Sierra Leone’s delegation is expected to take part in various discussions aimed at fostering stronger international cooperation and advancing global governance models.
