The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has fined the All People’s Congress (APC) party a total of three hundred and fifty thousand Leones (NLe350,000) for violating provisions of the Political Parties Act, 2022, during a mammoth meeting held in Freetown.
In a press release dated Monday, 2 February 2026, the PPRC informed the general public that it had imposed fines of two hundred thousand Leones (NLe200,000) and one hundred and fifty thousand Leones (NLe150,000) on the APC. The fines relate to violations of Section 39 (1)(c) and Section 39 (1)(d) of the Political Parties Act, 2022 (Act No. 25 of 2022).
According to the Commission, the violations were committed by the APC National Secretary General, Lansana Dumbuya Esq., and Zainab Sheriff respectively during the party’s “mammoth meeting” held at the Atouga Mini Stadium in Freetown on Saturday, 31 January 2026.
The PPRC stated that the cited sections of the Act were breached through statements made at the event, which the Commission described as profane, obscene, provocative, and inciting.
The Commission said it viewed the matter with grave concern, noting that such conduct contravenes the standards expected of registered political parties and their officials.
The Commission further disclosed that it had earlier warned the APC against similar conduct. According to the press release, a formal warning letter dated 11 November 2025 had been issued to the party over its contravention of Section 39 of the same Act.
The PPRC has given the APC seven days to pay the imposed fines. It warned that failure to comply within the stipulated period would compel the Commission to apply further measures as provided for under the Political Parties Act.

The rudeness of the named individuals in this write up is a cause for concern that needs not only fine but a strigent and deterring measures to control their excesses, sierra Leone is a country of law and order and should not give permission for rudeness and inmorality. Dumbuya and sheriff should be ashamed of themselves and their families and by extension the political party that that they are associating themselves with.
The should be thought the lesson that should alinate them and ther followers from such misguided and outrageous behaviour.
