All Peoples Congress (APC) flagbearer aspirant, Sheikh Alhaji Chief Mohamed “Omodu” Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, has made a significant community donation to Moyamba District, providing a 40-horsepower engine and 2,000 litres of fuel to support the rescue and transportation of pregnant women in riverine communities.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the district, Hon. Alpha Ben Mansaray explained that the engines would bolster the Sea Ambulance Initiative, a program designed to transport pregnant women with emergency medical conditions from remote riverine communities to hospitals.

Hon. Mansaray shared the initiative’s background, saying, “I pioneered this effort with just one borrowed-engine speedboat in my riverside community, where ambulances cannot reach. We’ve already saved three pregnant women, transporting them to Hatfield Archer Memorial Hospital in Rotifunk for critical care.”

Speaking at the handover, Jagaban expressed his support, stating, “Hon. Mansaray, I’m backing your efforts in Moyamba District. Your Sea Ambulance Initiative touched me, and I’m honored to support your life-saving work. Only Allah can truly reward you, but I’m privileged to contribute.”

Expressing profound gratitude, Hon. Mansaray emphasized that the donation transcends political lines: “Today is a very special day for me. I want to sincerely thank you, Jagaban, for this support. This gift is not for APC, SLPP, C4C, or NGC; it is for all pregnant women. You donated this for humanity and for the sake of God.”

The Sea Ambulance Initiative has already proven critical in saving lives in Moyamba, and the support from Jagaban is expected to expand its capacity and improve emergency healthcare access in the district.
