Magistrate Patrick Fofanah of the Port Loko Magistrate Court has on the 9th February 2026 committed a fraudulent conversion case to the High Court of Port Loko for further trial.
The accused, Lamin Conteh, was committed on charges of fraudulent conversion of a motorbike, contrary to the Larceny Act.
According to the prosecution witness, Abdulai Conteh of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Port Loko, the accused was arrested and brought to the Port Loko Police Station while the officer was on duty.
The prosecution alleged that the accused unlawfully converted a motorbike entrusted to him for his own use, thereby committing the offence under the relevant provisions of the Larceny Act.
During proceedings, Magistrate Fofanah ruled that sufficient evidence had been presented to warrant the accused to stand trial before the High Court. The matter has been adjourned to April 16, 2026, when the case will be heard at the High Court of Port Loko.
The accused, who appeared in court wearing a red Lacoste, was remanded pending his High Court appearance.
