The National Secretary General of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Lansana Dumbuya Esq., has been granted bail following his recent court appearance in Freetown on charges relating to alleged incitement and insulting language.

Dumbuya’s matter, which previously suffered a setback after proceedings were halted due to overcrowding and disagreements over the size of his legal team, resumed before Magistrate Mustapha Brima Jah at Magistrate Court No. 1.

The earlier sitting had ended abruptly when the Magistrate and state prosecutors walked out, citing the presence of over 100 lawyers in court and concerns about maintaining order.

Having renewed their bail application, Magistrate Brima Jah maintained that he would hand over the accused to the Chairman of the party, Mr. Foday Yansaneh, as part of the bail arrangement.

The case has been adjourned to 24th February 2026.
