The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Fatima Bio, has called on members and supporters of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) to carefully read and reflect on key provisions of the party’s Constitution, particularly Articles 16A to 16D.

In a strong message stressing discipline, unity, and accountability, the First Lady described the SLPP Constitution as an ”interesting and instructive document’‘ that goes beyond technical clauses, embodying the values, structure, and integrity that must guide the party.

She stressed that understanding the party’s Constitution is a responsibility, not an option, reminding members that leadership is not about entitlement but accountability, and not about ambition alone but respect for due process and institutional order.

Describing herself as a proud and paid-up Distinguished Grand Chief Patron member of the SLPP, Mrs. Bio said her membership represents a commitment to uphold the Constitution, respect due process, and protect the unity and legacy of the party.

The First Lady further emphasised that patriotism begins with service to humanity rather than the pursuit of power. She noted that true loyalty to party and country is demonstrated through sacrifice, humility, discipline, and a genuine desire to uplift the people.

She concluded by urging party members to not only read and understand the Constitution, but to live by it as a means of strengthening the party, safeguarding democracy, and serving Sierra Leone with honor and integrity.
