A coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Chief Electoral Commissioner (CEC) and Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL), Edmond Sylvester Alpha, to formally congratulate him on his appointment.

The delegation was led by Charles Mambo, National Coordinator of CSOs in Sierra Leone, who also chaired the engagement. The visit provided an opportunity for the CSOs to pledge their continued partnership with ECSL to ensure that the 2028 General Elections are conducted in line with the Commission’s core principles of transparency, fairness, and credibility.

While presenting their position statement, Charles Mambo emphasized the coalition’s support for the new Chief Electoral Commissioner, recognizing his leadership role in advancing democratic governance.

The engagement was highly interactive, with CSO representatives reaffirming their commitment to collaborate with ECSL and strengthen democratic processes in Sierra Leone.
