A man identified as Abass Kamara has been declared wanted by police following his alleged involvement in a bank cheque fraud case amounting to over $130,000.

According to reports from the Kambia Police Division, the incident occurred earlier today at approximately 11:00 AM, when Kamara allegedly fled with a bank cheque under circumstances now under active investigation by authorities.

In response to the development, the Local Unit Commander (LUC) has directed all checkpoint personnel across the Western Area Urban to heighten security measures. Officers have been instructed to carry out thorough searches on all vehicles and motorbikes, as part of efforts to track down and apprehend the suspect.

Police sources indicate that Kamara is believed to be within the jurisdiction, prompting intensified surveillance and coordinated operations across multiple checkpoints. Law enforcement officers have been placed on high alert and are expected to exercise maximum vigilance.

Authorities have stressed that any officer who identifies the suspect should immediately arrest him and escort him to the nearest Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and necessary action.
