The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative, Fredrick Ampiah, recently met with Dr Haja Ramatulai Wurie, Minister of Technical and Higher Education, to bolster the role of the University Innovation Pod (UniPod) as a national engine for innovation, entrepreneurship, and skills development across universities in Sierra Leone.

The discussion focused on aligning the UNDP Timbuktoo UniPod with national priorities in science, technology, and innovation.

Both parties emphasised enhancing collaboration to empower university ecosystems to research, develop, and scale homegrown solutions addressing local challenges.

During the visit, the delegation toured the UniPod facility, highlighting its significance as a hub for practical skills training, innovation, and youth-led problem-solving initiatives.
