Kasho Holland Cole has confirmed that close family members including children of APC executives will join the party’s planned peaceful march to State House, which he says will press for the resignation of the newly appointed Electoral Commissioner and highlight wider economic grievances facing Sierra Leoneans.
Kasho Holland Cole, chairperson of the Western Rural District Council, told Liberty Online that close family members and the children of APC executives will be part of the proposed peaceful demonstration to State House, stressing the event is intended to be non violent and respectful. He said the protest is for the people of Sierra Leone and invited “meaningful Sierra Leoneans” to join so their voices reach the president.
Holland Cole framed the demonstration as both political and socio economic.
While he singled out the appointment of the National Electoral Commissioner calling for the commissioner’s resignation and saying the public is unhappy with the appointment, he also listed broader grievances: high cost of living, stagnant salaries, unreliable electricity, and the need to implement tripartite recommendations. He emphasized the protest is not solely about the Electoral Commission but about everyday hardships affecting citizens.
Holland Cole said the march will include APC flagbearers contesters, and he named Dr. Samura Kamara, the APC’s 2023 flagbearer, as a possible participant if he is in the country and available. Holland Cole also indicated that some members of the ruling SLPP may join, suggesting the grievances could cut across party lines. He added a humor note joking that his 10 year old child frequently asks when the protest will take place.
Holland Cole repeatedly described the event as peaceful: “we will not abuse or sing against anyone neither fight,” he said, and urged participants to maintain decorum. He also accepted that if children of APC executives are not visible at the protest, others should likewise refrain from joining a comment aimed at transparency and credibility.

We hope to see the protest and protesters are courageous enough to fight for the grassroots supporters in every shade of life across the contours of Sierra Leone. We pray it shall progress well in peace 🙏
