Madam Ramatulai I. B. Kargbo, the Women’s Leader of the Dr. Ibrahim Bangura (DIB) Movement, convened a strategic meeting on Monday with female constituency executives and former councillors in Makeni to consolidate support for Dr. Bangura’s leadership bid.

The engagement, held on March 30, drew representatives from all eight constituencies across the Bombali District. The meeting focused on the movement’s strategy to place women at the forefront of the campaign for the All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer and presidential ticket.

During her keynote address, Madam Kargbo stated that the DIB Movement is prioritizing women’s leadership as a core component of its political agenda. She noted that the movement has intentionally tasked female leaders nationwide to head the campaign, a move she described as an effort to “redefine participation” and “deepen inclusion” within the APC.

Kargbo further detailed Dr. Bangura’s vision for internal party reform, encouraging women to contest for executive and delegate positions at the ward, constituency, district, and regional levels.

“His goal is a shared victory, one that ensures women rise alongside him at every level of the party,” Madam Kargbo told the gathered executives.

The mobilization comes as the APC prepares for its National Delegates Conference, scheduled to take place in Port Loko in August 2026. Kargbo urged the attendees to maintain unity, discipline, and “collective resolve” as the party nears the critical convention.

In response, the female constituency leaders present affirmed their commitment to the DIB Movement, pledging to support Dr. Bangura’s candidacy through the conclusion of the internal party processes.
