The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially opened applications for elite local coaches to be considered for a prestigious identification programme spearheaded by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
In a press release issued on April 16, 2026, the SLFA confirmed that it is acting on a direct request from CAF to identify high-performing coaching talent within its member associations.

The SLFA outlined a rigorous set of requirements for interested candidates, grouped into two main categories:
Category 1 – Coaching Experience
Applicants must:

Have a minimum of eight (8) years of coaching experience at elite youth or senior level
Have served as a Technical Director, Head Coach, or Assistant Coach within a Member Association’s technical setup for at least five (5) consecutive years
Category 2 – Sporting Achievements
Applicants must have achieved at least one of the following:
Won the Senior National Championship at least once in the last five (5) years
Participated in or qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)
Qualified for a FIFA World Cup
Qualified for the Olympic Games

The SLFA is urging all qualified and experienced coaches who meet these criteria to apply.
All applications must be submitted by Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Interested applicants are required to submit their Curriculum Vitae (CV) via email to [email protected], with a copy (CC) sent to [email protected].
The association noted that the programme presents a significant opportunity for Sierra Leonean coaches to gain continental recognition and contribute to the development of African football under the CAF framework.
