Parliament to Commence Hearings on 2024 Auditor-General’s Report
Aaron Parker The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Parliament of Sierra Leone has announced the commencement of public hearings on the Auditor-General’s Report for the 2024 financial year, as part of its constitutional oversight responsibilities.
In an official notice, the Committee informed Honourable Members of Parliament and the general public that the hearings will begin on Monday, 20th April 2026, and continue through to Wednesday, 6th May 2026, in line with an approved schedule.
The hearings are aimed at reviewing findings contained in the Audit Service Sierra Leone report, which typically highlights issues relating to public financial management, accountability, and the use of government resources across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
The PAC, which is mandated to examine how public funds are spent and ensure value for money, is expected to engage key government institutions and officials during the sessions. The process forms a critical part of parliamentary oversight, providing a platform to question irregularities, enforce accountability, and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Members of the public and stakeholders often follow PAC hearings closely, as they shed light on governance practices and the management of state resources.
